UPDATE TO MEMBERS ON AEROPLAN LOYALTY PROGRAM
Whether it’s enjoying your dream vacation, making timeless family memories, shopping through the Aeroplan eStore or simply earning miles with your Aeroplan credit card, we’re here to ensure you get the most out of your Aeroplan experience. Doing so requires you to have the most up-to-date information about Aeroplan and its future.

As you may have seen or heard, Air Canada, TD, CIBC and Visa Canada (the Consortium) expressed interest in purchasing the Aeroplan loyalty program. We have engaged in constructive discussions with the Consortium regarding this unsolicited offer.

Today, we released an update regarding those discussions, which can be found here. As indicated in the release, we don’t believe the original proposal reflects the full value of the Aeroplan business.

It is business as usual and we expect all of the current partners in the Consortium to honour their contractual obligations. Moreover, you will continue to earn and redeem with Air Canada and the entire Star Alliance fleet of airlines through to June 2020, when the current contract expires.

In the meantime, we’re working hard to provide Aeroplan members with increased flexibility and an enhanced experience, including our commitment to you that, come July 2020, Aeroplan members will be able to redeem for flights on any airline, anywhere.

We know you have questions about what this means for you and your Aeroplan Miles. We don’t have all of the answers, but for now, we thought we could address some of your most frequently asked questions.
