Air Canada has heard from thousands of customers that, in addition to expecting a better loyalty program, they would prefer to use their Aeroplan Miles with the new Air Canada loyalty program that was announced in May 2017. We participated in this deal so that we could deliver exactly that. Your Aeroplan Miles will be honoured on a one-to-one basis in our new loyalty program when it launches in 2020, allowing you to continue earning Aeroplan Miles with confidence.

Air Canada is among Aeroplan's largest partners, and many of Air Canada's customers are also Aeroplan members. We believe this transaction will enable us to deliver on our commitment of building the best travel rewards program in Canada for all of our customers.

"Will Air Canada's new program retain any of the future partnerships recently announced by Aeroplan, for example with Porter Airlines, Flair Airlines and Air Transat?"

No. These airlines will be partners with neither Aeroplan nor the new Air Canada loyalty program. Like today with Aeroplan, we are excited to offer you the opportunity to earn and redeem points on flights with Air Canada and the Star Alliance member airlines, as well as other airline partners such as Cathay Pacific and GOL Brazil, covering over 1,300 destinations worldwide.

"Does this affect my Aeroplan status?"
