We are responding to COVID-19 with more flexibility for our members.
____

In times like these, loyalty is more important than ever and we know it goes both ways. Like all of you, we've been monitoring the evolving global impact of COVID-19. We wanted to provide you with more details on adjustments we're making to the Aeroplan Program in light of these unprecedented circumstances.

  • Cancel any Flight Reward free of charge, until June 30
  • Cancel any Flight Reward free of charge, until June 30

If you'd like to cancel any Flight Reward, the fastest way to do so is at aeroplan.com. Due to high call volumes, we are experiencing long hold times at our contact centres. Until June 30, you can cancel free of charge and receive all of your Aeroplan Miles back in your account, plus a full refund of any associated taxes, fees and surcharges on the unused value of your travel. Simply log in and visit Manage your bookings.

Cancellation of Flight Rewards cannot be completed online if you have already checked in for your flight, or have already commenced travel. In these scenarios, please call the Aeroplan Contact Centre to complete the cancellation.

  • Temporary pause to expiration of Aeroplan Miles, until June 29
  • Temporary pause to expiration of Aeroplan Miles, until June 29
As you know, earning, redeeming or transferring Aeroplan Miles will keep all of your miles active for 12 months from the transaction date. In order to give you one less thing to think about, as a policy matter, we have paused expiry until June 29, 2020. This means that between now and June 29, any Aeroplan Miles that would have expired will not. Effective June 30, our normal expiration policy will once again apply, meaning that miles will expire if an eligible transaction has not been completed prior to this date.

Please note that, in the event that a date earlier than June 30 appears as the account expiration date on your Aeroplan profile, you can rest assured that the June 30 date will prevail.

While travel is core to Aeroplan, don’t forget that there are many ways to keep your account active while you’re at home, such as:

We also have some important information for Air Canada Altitude members, as well as those who are expecting to reach Altitude status in 2020:
____
  • Your Air Canada Altitude status is secure.
  • Your Air Canada Altitude status is secure.
Whatever Altitude status you currently hold in 2020, we will automatically extend through the end of 2021. Should you reach a higher status before the end of this year, you'll enjoy it upon qualification and through 2021 as well. Just like this year, you'll also be able to choose your Select Privileges once again in early 2021, so that you can enjoy the benefits that you value the most.

Example 1: If you earned Elite 35K status for 2020, you'll keep that status through the end of 2021.

Example 2: If you earned Elite 35K status for 2020, you'll keep that status through the end of 2021. Based on your 2020 flight activities, if you earn at least 50,000 AQM (or 50 AQS) and 6,000 AQD, you'll enjoy Elite 50K status for 2021.

We'll provide more details about how to share status for 2021 later this year.
