  • Cancel any Flight Reward free of charge, until December 31

If you'd like to cancel any Flight Reward, the fastest way to do so is at aeroplan.com. Due to high call volumes, we are experiencing long hold times at our contact centres. Cancellation of Flight Rewards cannot be completed online if you have already checked in for your flight, or have already commenced travel. In these scenarios, please call the Aeroplan Contact Centre to complete the cancellation. Note that refunds will not apply for previously-charged fees, including contact centre booking fees and change fees, or for government taxes and fees which are non-refundable by law.

More time to keep your account active

Effective July 20, 2020 we are waiving the current expiry provisions. You will now have 18 months to keep your account active – six months longer than before.

All you have to do to stay active is earn or redeem a single mile. While travel is core to Aeroplan, don't forget that there are many ways to keep your account active, such as:

More flexible options to reinstate your Aeroplan Miles

If your miles do expire, don't worry. Within six months of your account becoming inactive, if you fly on an eligible Air Canada ticket or get any Aeroplan credit card, we'll reactivate all of your recently expired miles.

We also understand that you may have been forced to adjust your travel plans due to COVID-19, so we're taking additional action. If you purchased a trip with Air Canada prior to July 20, 2020, with travel commencing anytime since January 2020 and had to cancel your travel plans, we'll be happy to reinstate all of your Aeroplan Miles which have expired since the beginning of this year. You'll just need to have your Air Canada booking reference on hand.

To take advantage of any of these options, simply call the Aeroplan Contact Centre.

  • Your Air Canada Altitude status is secure.
Whatever Altitude status you currently hold in 2020, we will automatically extend through the end of 2021. Should you reach a higher status before the end of this year, you'll enjoy it upon qualification and through 2021 as well. Just like this year, you'll also be able to choose your Select Privileges once again in early 2021, so that you can enjoy the benefits that you value the most.

Example 1: If you earned Elite 35K status for 2020, you'll keep that status through the end of 2021.

Example 2: If you earned Elite 35K status for 2020, you'll keep that status through the end of 2021. Based on your 2020 flight activities, if you earn at least 50,000 AQM (or 50 AQS) and 6,000 AQD, you'll enjoy Elite 50K status for 2021.
