Web Site Information and Security
The Aeroplan Web site (www.aeroplan.com) gives you the benefit of self service from anywhere the Internet is available.
Information you exchange with us online is treated as securely as through any other business channel. We use industry standard encryption software (128-bit secure socket layer) that protects information as it is sent between your browser and our systems. And our data centres are protected by several layers of firewalls to ensure that only you can access your information.
In general, we require information online similar to that required to make a booking elsewhere.
Online Enrollment
The Aeroplan direct email service will soon offer you the ability to receive targeted, timely notification of time-sensitive offers.
To sign up for this service, you must provide us with the name of your country of residence and your postal code. You may unsubscribe at any time using the link provided on every email message.
Use of cookies
We receive and store certain types of information whenever you interact with us. For example, like many Web sites, we use "cookies," and we obtain certain types of information when your Web browser accesses aeroplan.com.
Examples of the information we collect and analyze include the Internet protocol (IP) address used to connect your computer to the Internet; login; email address; password; computer and connection information such as browser type and version, operating system, and platform; purchase history; the full Uniform Resource Locators (URL) clickstream to, through, and from our Web site, including date and time; cookie number; and pages you viewed or searched for.
A number of companies offer utilities designed to help you visit Web sites anonymously. Although we will not be able to provide you with a personalized experience at this point, we want you to be aware that these tools exist and recommend that, if using them, you leave them turned on.
The "help" portion of the toolbar on most browsers will tell you how to prevent your browser from accepting new cookies, how to have the browser notify you when you receive a new cookie, or how to disable cookies altogether.
